Our commitment to the community

We are committed to keeping the Indigenous groups and local communities engaged and informed throughout the development of this project. By engaging early and often with stakeholders, we create project plans with better outcomes for everyone involved. Engaging with communities means listening to the needs of all our stakeholders, providing accurate information, and responding to stakeholder interests in a prompt and consistent manner.

Some of the ways we work to identify potential environmental and socio-economic effects are through hosting local open houses, conducting public presentations and having one-on-one discussions. We also reach out to our stakeholders with fact sheets, brochures, websites and provide email and toll-free phone lines to contact us directly.

Our goal from the beginning has been to support a collaborative, inclusive, community-based approach to the development of this project. We are committed to working with communities and stakeholders to understand concerns and to seek their input and ideas so that we can ensure the project is developed in a manner that is mutually beneficial."

Community update — July 19, 2022:

Making Meaford greener

This year, 20 enthusiastic TC Energy green thumbs rolled up their sleeves and volunteered to plant 250 cedar saplings in the Meaford area, helping to beautify our local community.

We have proudly partnered with Tree Canada since 1996 in planting and supporting the health of more than 7.5 million trees in several communities.
